	Charlotte Lau Amy Yamazaki	Charlotte is a super friendly, funny and cool ‘Tokyo grunger’ who holds her own. She landed a job as a barmaid at the SU Bar ahead of the new term and quickly struck up a friendship with the students including Kris and Archie. We soon learned that she was in fact Lydia’s ex-girlfriend but the circumstances around their separation remain a mystery. They are now good friends, but Lydia has suggested that Charlotte may be unhinged. Amy has been performing since she was just 10 years old, appearing in Holby City, CBBC’s Powers and BBC3 comedy’s Marigold and Coming of Age.
	MERCEDES McQueen JENIFER METCALFE	Jennifer Metcalfe is a model and joined the cast of Hollyoaks in early 2006, playing feisty Mercedes Owen. In 2007, she was nominated for 'Sexiest Female' at both the British Soap Awards and the Inside Soap Awards.
	PC CALVIN VALENTINE RICKY WHITTLE	Ricky Whittle has appeared in Sky One's Dream Team, Holby City and is now currently playing PC Calvin Valentine in Hollyoaks. Ricky is one of the most popular male celebrities for PA's at the moment.
	GILLY ROACH ANTHONY QUINLAIN	Anthony Quinlan is best known for his role as Gilly Roach in Hollyoaks. Anthony studied performing arts at a Manchester acting college, and is one of the show's most popular characters.
	Frankie Osborne Helen Pearson	Frankie has been through a tough few months, being forced to sell The Dog pub to pay off her family's debts after her husband Jack went to prison for faking his own death. Frankie now resides with her daughter Steph, and is working at Drive'n'Buy. She was recently thrilled as Jack returned home from prison.
	Cindy Cunningham Stephanie Waring	Cindy's grief at the loss of her little brother Max has done little to curb her manipulative personality. Her return, complete with daughter Holly, has already stirred trouble in the lives and relationships of plenty of fellow residents. Cindy has been seeing Darren Osborne, but is too scared to make any real relationship commitment.
	Amy Barnes Ashley Slanina Davies	Pregnant for the second time, teenage mum Amy finally moved herself and daughter Leah back home and away from her abusive ex-boyfriend Ste. Amy recently got back together with her former boyfriend Josh Ashworth.
	TONY HUTCHINSON JOHN PICKARD	Dominic arrived as Tony's long lost brother. Having previously starred in Grange Hill and 2 Point 4 Children, John joined his brother Nick last year.
	RHYS ASHWORTH ANDREW MOSS	You might recognize his face from the BBC drama series Cutting It, along with a couple of appearances in Coronation Street and Merseybeat. He plays the popular character of Rhys Ashworth in Hollyoaks.
	CARMEL McQUEEN GEMMA MERNA	Gemma Merna currently plays Carmel McQueen which is her first major TV role. She joined the cast in the Summer of 2006 and won Best Comedy Performance for her role in the 2007 Soap Awards.
	DAREN OSBORNE ASHLEY TAYLOR-DAWSON	Ashley joined Hollyoaks in September 1999 to play character, Darren Osborne. After leaving the programme in late 2000 Ashley enjoyed a short-lived career in the music business as part of the group All Stars. He returned to Hollyoaks in October 2003.
	Jacqui McQueen Claire Cooper	Jacqui was dealt a double blow during Niall's revenge on her family. Not only did she lose younger sister Tina but she also found out that partner Tony had slept with her other sister Mercedes and that they aborted their child together. Jacqui moved home to her mother Myra and is now caring for baby Max, Tina's newborn son. Jacqui has recently gotten back to her thieving ways, with the help of her cousin Theresa and some fake pregnancy bumps!
	ZAK RAMSEY KENT RILEY	Kent is currently starring as Zak Ramsey, a sports science student, in Hollyoaks. He has also starred in Family Affairs, and Footballers Wives. He began his acting career in a number of musical theatre productions. He has a BA in acting from Liverpool Institute of performing arts.
	Anita Roy Saira Choudhry	Anita is the youngest of the Roy family, and has become firm friends with school buddies Theresa McQueen, Lauren Valentine and Newt. She's a sensitive soul but has her big brothers and sister to watch out for her! Hollyoaks is Saira's first major TV role
	India Longford Beth Kingston	India is beautiful, intelligent and well-spoken, having enjoyed a privileged up-bringing. She is narrow-minded with a tendency to rub people up the wrong way and despite her desperate need to be liked by everyone, she manages to ruffle a few feathers when she arrives. In spite of this, India is genuine and really wants to make a go of student life. Hollyoaks is Beth’s first TV appearance. She landed the part of India after beating thousands of hopefuls in our online competition ‘Desperately Seeking’.
	Cheryl Brady Bronagh Waugh	Cheryl is Malachy’s ex-girlfriend, who we first met in Hollyoaks Later 2008 where she got together with Zak. The bubbly ‘tart with a heart’ is fresh off the boat from Belfast and her arrival spells trouble for the hot men and ruckus for the ladies. When she realises Zak is already spoken for, she sets her sights on Calvin and despite his initial knock backs she remains determined to win him over. Bronagh’s first acting gig was in the Thai soap Khrop Khrua Angrit. She’s also presented on MTV Asia and appeared in Miss Conception alongside Heather Graham.
	Lauren Valentine Dominique Jackson	Lauren arrived in HOLLYOAKS with her brother Danny when they were dumped on the Valentine's doorstep by their mum Val. Lauren has since settled in to family life, joined HOLLYOAKS High, and struck up a relationship with Frankie and Jack Osborne's foster kid Newt
	Loretta Jones Melissa Walton	Stripper Loretta first appeared in Hollyoaks Later, where she became quite taken with sweet and stuttering Dom. Their relationship looks set to blossom after Ste secretly sets them up in Il Gnosh. Especially as they bond over their mutual love of bird watching...
	Michaela McQueen Hollie Jay Bowes	The youngest of the McQueen clan Michaela has always had to fight for attention. Michaela went through a hard time after the return of her long lost brother Niall and the revenge explosion which he engineered. The trauma of losing sister Tina has brought out a more vulnerable side in Michaela, although she is well supported by her friends, and more recently her new boyfriend Zak Ramsey.
	Myra McQueen Nicole Barber Lane	yra fiercely defends all of her children, no matter what scrapes they get themselves into. However, this was tested to the max recently after the son she abandoned at birth returned and took revenge on the entire McQueen clan. As well as losing daughter Tina during the explosion engineered by Niall, Myra was also forced to choose which of her other kids to save. This has resulted in resentment and bad relations in the family even now.
	Nancy Hayton Jessica Fox	Since her husband Jake's detainment in a psychiatric hospital the vibrant and eccentric Nancy has re-emerged. Nancy lost her custody battle for her sister Becca's son Charlie, but Charlie's legal guardian Frankie now allows Nancy to visit her nephew. Feisty Nancy has embarked on a relationship with Ravi Roy, and is secretly seeing Kris Fisher behind Ravi's back... little does she know Kris is also sleeping with Ravi!
	Sasha Valentine Nathalie Emmanuel	Sasha is a rebellious young girl who has been through quite a lot for someone of her age. Shortly after her family arrived in Hollyoaks her mother was run over and subsequently died. Sasha became heavily involved in taking heroin with her friend Fletch, but managed to go cold turkey and kick her habit. She has recently gotten herself into more trouble, however, as she has embarked on a secret affair with Hollyoaks bad boy Warren Fox.
	Steph Cunningham Carley Stenson	It seemed that Steph had finally found happiness with old friend Max until she was widowed on their wedding day after a drunken Niall accidentally ran Max over. Following Max's death, Steph became involved with Niall - until she realised he was a vengeful murderer! Steph witnessed Niall committing suicide after she told him she didn't love him, and has returned to the village attempting to get over her trauma. Steph has recently started up her own dance school, and is running the Mobs smoothie bar. She is living in Max's old flat and looking after Max's little brother Tom.
	Theresa McQueen Jorgie Porter	Theresa first appeared in The Loft during their 'School Disco' night, and ended up sleeping with Tony. Little did he realise Theresa is only 15 - and related to the McQueens! Theresa is a McQueen girl through and through, from her love of make-up and chav glamour to a knack for thieving and trickery...
	Archie Carpenter Stephen Beard	Zoe's younger brother Archie is a cheeky chap who loves to wind his sister up. But no more than he loves trying to woo the ladies!
	John Pickard Dominic Reilly	Dominic arrived in the village as Tony's long lost brother, and married Tina McQueen. Their relationship reached rocky terrain when Tina agreed to become a surrogate mum for Tony and her sister Jacqui. After complications at the birth, Jacqui and Tony agreed to let Dom and Tina keep baby Max for themselves. Dom's world was turned upside down, however, when Tina announced that Russ is in fact baby Max's father. Dom had just decided to forgive Tina when she was suddenly killed by her half brother Niall in a church explosion. Dom's heart is now on the mend, and he has struck up a new relationship with stripper Loretta - much to Tony and the McQueen's disgust.
	Elliot Beval Garnon Davies	Elliot entered the village as a science geek who struggled to get girls to see him as more than a sweet friend. But he has since managed to charm both model Sarah Barnes and her gorgeous friend Hannah Ashworth with his sweet, caring nature! Garnon joined the cast this year, and takes several hours every morning to get into geek mode before he heads to the set.
	Jack Osborne Jimmy McKenna	Jack ran The Dog pub with his wife Frankie, but his financial situation plummeted, leaving him suicidal... until Darren came up with a plan to solve their problems - faking Jack's death. Jack spent months pretending to be dead, hiding in The Dog attic. When twisted Niall got wind of Jack's faked death, he attacked the ex-cop leaving him for dead! Despite his heroics during the church explosion, Jack served a prison sentence for fraud, and has now returned to the village.
	Josh Ashworth Sonny Flood	Josh has had a troubled time, having been dumped by Amy for Ste, as well as his recent family troubles. Josh has become alienated from his friend Fletch after he became a heroin addict, and has recently started a band with his brother Rhys and their friend Gilly - The Dirty Diegos. His relationship with Amy was back on for a while, but due to Josh's difficulty dealing with the fact that Amy is pregnant with Ste's baby, their relationship is currently off again.
	Kris Fisher Gerard McCarthy	Kris went through a traumatic couple of months – first finding out that his brother Malachy is HIV positive and then discovering his father's dead body was used as a prop in the Osbornes' fraud scam. Kris seems to have reverted back to his usual feisty self, however, and has been secretly seeing both Nancy Hayton and Ravi Roy!
	Malachy Fisher Glen Wallace	Just when it seemed that laddish Malachy had found a match in Mercedes McQueen, disaster struck in the form of a positive HIV test and his father's tragic death. Mercedes was utterly distraught that Malachy put her in danger of contracting HIV, but the pair resolved their differences and got married in Ireland. The loved-up couple have now returned to Hollyoaks and are attempting to come up with ideas to make big money...
	Mike Barnes Tony Hurst	Mike's relationship with student Zoe ended after he found out Zoe had slept with his daughter Sarah. Mike is now free, single, and a mature student at HCC - and devotes his time to looking after his pregnant daughter Amy, who moved home to get away from her violent boyfriend Ste.
	Newt Nico Mirallegro	Newt (real name Barry) was hospitalised earlier in the year suffering from schizophrenia. Although he made a good recovery the discovery that Jack is still alive and the arrival of his biological mother have been testing for the troubled teen. He is currently in a forbidden relationship with fellow emo Lauren Valentine.
	Ravi Roy Stephen Uppal	Ravi has settled into village life well and works for local bad-boy Warren Fox at the Loft nightclub. Ravi enjoys a tumultuous relationship with strong minded Nancy, and has recently been having an affair with Kris Fisher. Little does he know sly Kris is also sleeping with Nancy!
	Ste Hay Keiran Richardson	Ste's girlfriend Amy left him after he hit and bullied her repeatedly. He now lives in the house he and Amy shared with Justin Burton. Ste is desperately trying to win Amy back, but to no avail...
	Gaz Bennett Joel Goonan	Gaz is not so much the bad boy of Hollyoaks village, but more the village menace. In his time in Hollyoaks, Gaz has racially tormented the Roys and the Valentines, assaulted Gilly, harassed Theresa McQueen, burnt down Relish, been expelled from school and attempted to assault Nancy. He's not a nice chap, but will his past misdemeanours catch up with him?
	Kevin Sacre Jake Dean	Jake became increasingly disturbed following the death of his wife Becca in prison. He married Becca's younger sister Nancy, but she left him after he attempted to rape her. Jake was put in a psychiatric hospital after he tried to commit suicide and take Becca's son Charlie with him. Since being put in hospital, Jake agreed to confess to Sean Kennedy's murder as a favour to Justin if he promised to give custody of baby Charlie to Frankie Dean. Since this 'confession', Jake looks set to be put away for a long time.
	David Colburn Elliot Langridge	Dave is a Fresher at HCC who’s cool, charming and always one to drive the fun. He is a ladies’ man that oozes confidence and he never has to try too hard which serves to make him even cooler. Although he is usually one instigating trouble and causing chaos, Dave always manages to walk away the innocent party. He never lands himself in any trouble, despite getting into some pretty hairy situations.
	Duncan Dean Aspen	Neville and Suzanne Ashworth's godson Duncan Button arrived in Hollyoaks in 2009, immediately causing chaos with his cheeky behaviour. He has struck up a friendship with Ricky Campbell, and recently found out that Ricky's dad is seriously ill. Plenty of fun will ensue for Duncan as he aims to get his 16th birthday celebrations featured on a reality TV show and Darren Osborne tries to teach him to become the world's most desirable man!
	Spencer Gray Darren Langford	Spencer is Warren Fox's foster brother, who arrived unexpectedly just before Louise and Warren's wedding. Warren is protective of Spencer, who has learning difficulties and a mental age of ten. Darren has featured in various television commercials, and theatre productions, prior to his role on Hollyoaks.
	Neville Ashworth Jim Millea	Businessman Neville has recently moved on to pastures new after acquiring the village pub from Frankie and Jack. Jim's been acting for 20 years, and has previously had parts in 'Emmerdale', 'Coronation Street', 'Eastenders', 'Doctors', and 'Heartbeat'.
	Ricky Campbell Ashley Margolis	Physically attached to his skateboard, Ricky’s an abundance of energy. He met new love Anita on the internet when he lied about his age. Anita was disappointed to discover that Ricky was in fact 14 years old, but was charmed by his boyish good looks and cheeky sense of humour. Hollyoaks is Ashley’s first major TV role, but he has been acting since he was eight years old, appearing in various theatre productions including the National Tour of Beauty and the Beast where he played Chip the teacup.
	Leo Valentine Brian Bovell	Leo has always struggled to balance his parenting responsibilities with his love of a few cheeky drinks however this year has been particularly challenging. Having come through Sasha's heroin problems Leo is now concerned with Calvin's marriage and looking after Spencer. Before joining Hollyoaks Brian featured in the film 'Love Actually', as well as having previous TV roles in 'Gimme, Gimme, Gimme' and 'The Bill'. Brian has recently been proud to receive a Lifetime Achievement Award, and a Comedy Award from Jonathan Ross
	Jem Helen Russell Clark	Free spirit Jem loves travelling and new experiences. She met Gilly while travelling in Thailand as he saved her from an unfortunate death by sharks! It was love at first sight, and Gilly brought Jem back to the Hollyoaks village with him... Feisty and full of big ideas, Jem always speaks her mind. She's into martial arts and keeping fit. But will she be able to keep her man in spite of Steph and Cheryl's constant scheming? Helen Russell Clark graduated from the Guildford School of Acting a year and a half ago - the same acting school that taught Claire Cooper (Jacqui McQueen) and Bronagh Waugh (Cheryl)!
	Rae Alice Barlow	Young Rae first appeared on Hollyoaks as Newt's goth friend who turned out to be a figment of his imagination. Newt later discovered that Rae was in fact a real person. However instead of the emo persona Newt had grown to know and love, real Rae was a right chav! Newt and Rae were first at odds with each other, but in recent weeks have grown closer...
	Suzanne Ashworth Suzanne Hall	Suzanne has been trying to keep her family together following the revelation that Rhys is actually Neville's brother Noel's son - as well as Hannah's anorexia, Rhys having an affair with his half sister Beth, and Beth's subsequent death in a car accident. The Ashworths have recently taken over the running of The Dog, and have moved into the flat above the pub. Suzanne's TV career started when she was just 11, starring in 'Jossy's Giants'. She's since appeared in 'Coronation Street', 'Emmerdale' and 'Cops'
