John Partridge
 John originally trained as a dancer at the Royal Ballet School and before joining EastEnders he worked largely in theatre. He has performed in a long list of musicals, including CATS, Tommy, Starlight Express, Grease and Miss Saigon.

 In 1993, he appeared as Ian Beale in a Children In Need one off Doctor Who Special set in Albert Square Adam is a keen cyclist and photographer. Adam's one of the few EastEnders cast members to actually come from the East End of London

 Laurie used to be a nightclub bouncer at a private club in Soho, London. Laurie went to the same drama college as Tamzin Outhwaite; the London Studio Centre. She spent a year (1986-1987) travelling around Mexico and Central America with a circus called Circo Magico Italiano. She was a magician's assistant and a dancer. After appearing with Nicholas Parsons in The Rocky Horror Picture Show, she sang on his 2001 dance single I Want To Be Your Fantasy.

 Scott Maslen is best known for his role as DS Phil Hunter in The Bill. He's also appeared in Heatbeat, Peak Practice and in Guy Richie's series Lock, Stock... When he's got the time, he enjoys a spot of fishing, particularly for carp. His favourite types of music are jazz and funk, and he's recently been getting down to tunes by the Sound Stylistics.

He'll feature in Ed Norton's period romance film The Illusionist. Jake appeared in detective drama Mayo alongside Alistair McGowan In cult comedy Red Dwarf, Jake played psychotic prisoner Kill Crazy.

 Jo was born in Essex but grew up in the Midlands. Jo's role in Channel Five's sketch show Swinging won her a Rose d'Or international award for best female comedy performer in 2006. She enjoys collecting shoes and jackets. Jo's TV credits include Clocking Off, The Second Coming, North And South, Doctor Who, Swinging and No Angels.

 Sid enjoys football and has played in several celebrity matches. He supports Arsenal. Sid's real name is David Sutton. He used to own a restaurant in Aubeterre-sur-Dronne, France. His signature dish is fish cakes. It's taken him years to perfect! Sid took on Ben Fogle in a celebrity boxing match to raise money for Sport Relief. Sid has sung on Night Fever, Beach Fever, Stars Sing The Beatles and Top of the Pops. He has appeared in a number of TV shows including Celebrity Ready Steady Cook, Lily Savage's Blankety Blank, Top of the Pops and Shooting Stars. He also presented series eight of To Buy or Not to Buy. Before EastEnders, Sid starred in a feature film called Revolution. His character was called Young Ned.

 Patsy enjoys dancing and has produced her own video to encourage people to dance themselves fit! In her spare time Patsy likes walking her dogs on the beach. She enjoys painting, working mostly in acrylics. Like a number of other East Enders, Patsy starred in Grange Hill as a child. She also appeared in an advert for spot cream! Another early role for Patsy was in a West End production of Joseph and his Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat. In the years since we last saw her in Walford she's appeared in the TV series McCready and Daughter and Do or Die. She's toured with the one-woman musical Tell Me On A Sunday and took the lead role in Steppin Out. She also performed in the play We Happy Few at the Gielgud Theatre. In 2005 Patsy took part in Strictly Come Dancing, raising money for Children in Need.

He once had trials for Leyton Orient Football Club. Perry's long list of TV credits includes Inspector Morse, Minder, Watching andBergerac. He also appeared alongside fellow East Ender Todd Carty in Tucker's Luck Among his film roles are Greenwich Mean Time, Janice Beard and The Winslow Boy.

 Barbara had a romantic liaison with Reggie Kray, a notorious English gangster, in the 1960s. She has been awarded an MBE (Member of the British Empire). Barbara appeared in just nine out of the thirty Carry On films. Barbara originally based Peggy's character on a mixture of Violet Kray (the Kray brothers' mother), Mike Reid's wife and her own mother. Barbara appeared in several Carry On films, most famously Carry On Camping. Her other film credits include Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and A Study In Terror. One of her earliest appearances was as an unnamed schoolgirl in 1954's The Belles Of St. Trinian's. On TV, she played the saucy Nancy in Worzel Gummidge, and made guest appearances in Dad's Army and One Foot In The Grave In 2000, she made a brief cameo appearance as herself in Cor Blimey, a drama about her relationship with Carry On co-star Sid James She was profiled on This Is Your Life in 1992.

 Steve is a keen sailor and has his own boat. He studied and subsequently graduated from London's prestigious RADA. Steve's early TV credits include guest appearances in Bergerac and Minder and a part in the 1988 drama series The Firm with Gary Oldman. In 2000, he took a break from EastEnders to appear in the BBC's anthology series Murder In Mind On the big screen, he played a gang member in Buster and a bouncer in Kevin and Perry Go Large.

 Samantha previously played gorgeous Mandy Wilkins in 90s sitcom Game On. She also appeared in Judge John Deed, Babes In The Wood and Where The Heart Is. She's already appeared in EastEnders. She played Wicksy's girlfriend. Her favourite EastEnders character is Angie Watts: "She was fabulous and so iconic - never to be repeated." Samantha has already bonded with her co-stars: "Obviously, I immediately bonded with Rita (Roxy) as we play sisters and started on the same day and I already knew Barbara (Peggy) so it has been lovely seeing her. And Adam Woodyatt (Ian) is liquid gold - a really great guy."

 Rita has previously appeared in Mile High and Dream Team. She met Samantha Janus (Roxy) for the first time at the auditions and they instantly bonded: "We just spark off each other so well." Rita's a massive EastEnders fan: "I’ve always watched it and it has always been my dream job. I walk around now touching wood because I can't believe I’m here." She loves playing Roxy: "She’s fun and for all her faults, she’s warm. She’s quirky and amusing and not all that bright all the time."

 Derek's highly skilled at bowling, cricket and golf He's a former stuntman and once broke his collar bone falling from a horse. Derek's prized possession is an oil painting of himself done by a Royal Academy artist fifteen years ago. He was offered the role of Frank Butcher in 1986 but turned it down. Derek is an East Ender through and through. He was born in Bow, and went to the same school as the notorious Kray twins. He's had quite a few unusual jobs - RAF policeman, bouncer, rag-and-bone man and a porter at Smithfield meat market. Derek's a big Chelsea football fan. Their ground is his favourite spot in London. Derek started off in showbiz as a stuntman. After breaking his collar bone filming the historical drama Elizabethe R, he made the switch to acting. Derek's other major soap role was playing Alex Morris in the BBC's early 90s Spanish soap Eldorado He's also starred in The Governor and The Chinese Detective. Since the 1960s he's guested in many British TV programmes including Doctor Who, The Sweeney, Only Fools and Horses and Elizabeth R.

 Linda's an animal lover. She has three rescue dogs She loves to horse ride Kellie Shirley (Carly) says of Linda: "Working with her has been really good. She's so on the ball and really interesting. I'm in awe!" Linda's best known for playing inmate Yvonne Atkins in Bad Girls. She played a different Shirley in Brit gangster flick, The Business She's also appeared in Prime Suspect, A Touch of Frost and Cracker.

 Laila's a highly skilled swimmer Laila's brother is British film actor and director Gary Oldman She's sometimes credited as Jackie Wyles. Laila played Molly in the 1999 TV production of Great Expectations, which starred Ioan Gruffudd and Charlotte Rampling. Her film credits include Nil By Mouth and Love, Honour and Obey.
