Coronation Street

	ASHLEY PEACOCK STEPHEN ARNOLD	Steven Arnold is best known for his role as Ashley Peacock in Coronation Street, which he has played since 1996. He has also played a character called Rob in an episode of The Billl and a role in Common as Muck, he has also played Darren in the medical series Medics.
	KEVIN WEBSTER MICHAEL LA VELL	Michael Le Vell (real name Michael Turner) has since 1983 played the role of garage mechanic, Kevin Webster in Coronation Street.
	CHESNEY SAM ASTON	Sam Aston has played Chesney Battersby-Brown in Coronation Street since 2003. He acted in Where the Heart is and The Bill, before landing the role of Chesney and has since been on Stars in their Eyes and acted in Oliver Twist. In 2004 Sam was named Best Newcomer at the National TV Awards. The following year, Sam won Best Dramatic Performance for a Young Actor or Actress at the British Soap Awards.
	LEANNE BATTERSBY JANE DANSON	Jane is most famous for her role as Leanne Battersby which she began in 1997. She has also appeared in A&E and The Bill.
	DAVID PLATT JACK SHEPHERD	Jack Peter Shepherd is best known for portraying David Platt in Coronation Street. He joined the show in April 2000. He has taken time out of Coronation Street to do theatre work including the role of Riff in a production of West Side Story as part of the The Yorkshire School of Performing Arts.
	BECKY GRANGER KATHERINE KELLY	Katherine plays Rebecca "Becky" Granger. She is the obsessive former friend of Kelly, whom she framed for theft. Becky returned in November 2006, when she met Hayley Cropper who was her former workmate when Hayley was teaching at an ex-offenders literacy class.
	KELLY CRABTREE TUPELE DORGU	Tupele Dorgu (30) is best known for her role as Kelly Crabtree in Coronation Street, which she has played since autumn of 2004. She has also appeared in Loose Women, Casualty and Strictly African Dancing. In January 2007, Dorgu was a contestant in UK celebrity singing reality contest Soapstar Superstar.
	TYRONE DOBBS ALAN HALSALL	Alan (25) has played the role of Tyrone Dobbs in Coronation Street since 1998, one of the street's best loved characters. Alan has performed very successful PA's for us recently. He has also appeared in Heartbeat and Queer as Folk in 1999.
	KIRK SUTHERLAND ANDY WHYMENT	Andy (37) has played Kirk Sutherland on Coronation Street since 1999. He won 2nd place in Soapstar Superstars 2006. Andy can also perform 2-3 songs at a PA if required and is an excellent singer! He's also appeared in The Royle Family, Heartbeat, Cracker, and Where the Heart is.
	FIZZ BROWN JENNIE McALPINE	On-screen girlfriend of Kirk! - Fizz Brown has been played by Jennie McAlpine(23) for many years and is on our screens in nearly every episode of Coronation Street. Jennie has also appeared in Emmerdale Farm.
	Dev Alahan Jimmi Harkishin	Dev was tied up by ‘Mad Maya’ who sought revenge for being ditched by setting fire to all his shops and trying to run over him and new love Sunita.
	SALLY WEBSTER SALLY WHITTAKER	First arrived 22 January 1986: Sally came from the 'rough' Sneddon family and soon caught Kevin Webster's eye. Sally Whittaker trained at Oldham Repertory Theatre and in 1985 appeared in television series Juliet Bravo. Before landing the role of Sally, she also auditioned for the roles of Sue Clayton and Michelle Robinson.
	MARIA SUTHERLAND SAMIA SMITH	First arrived 19 May, 2000, when Tyrone took Monica the greyhound to the dog kennels where Maria worked. Samia Smith has been acting since she was a child and has appeared on TV in Cracker, Life Force, Children's Ward, Heartbeat, and Doctors. She also starred in the film There's Only One Jimmy Grimble as Jimmy's girlfriend Sara.
	SEAN TULLY ANTHONY COTTON	First arrived 2003: Gay Sean was introduced to Todd Grimshaw by nurse Karl Foster. He was down on his luck when he went for a drink in the Rovers with Todd and his mum Eileen. He had nowhere to live so Eileen offered him accommodation. Antony Cotton approached the Coronation Street producer and asked to be part of the show. He subsequently helped create the character with the show's writers. Before that, Antony is best known for playing Alexander in Queer as Folk and he also has a small speaking role in Absolutely Fabulous. In January 2007, Antony proved he could sing as well as act when he won ITV1's Soapstar Superstar.
	CARLA CONNOR ALISON KING	First arrived 1st December, 2006, when Carla turned up at the Underworld Christmas party with a bottle of champagne in each hand and started lording it over the girls. Alison King has starred in TV shows including Dream Team, Holby City, Cold Feet and Auf Wiedersehen Pet.
	ROSIE WEBSTER HELEN FLANAGAN	First arrived Christmas Day 1990 when Sally gave birth to Rosie in the back of Don Brennan's taxi on Rosamund Street. The baby was given the name Rosie after the street in which she was born. Helen Flanagan began acting at the age of four when her parents enrolled her in the Carol Godby Theatre Workshop in Bury.
	Eileen Grimshaw Sue Cleaver	Poor Eileen, her love life is never straightforward. She left Jason’s dad Tony after she caught him in bed with another girl when she was pregnant with Jason. And she did a runner from Todd’s dad Duncan when she got scared after he started making plans for them as a family, although she regretted it later. She had a fling with Patrick, one of the Streetcars drivers, and she’s been proposed to five times by five different men, but has turned them all down. Eileen still hopes Mr Right is out there for her.
	MOLLY COMPTON VICKY BINNS	First arrived 5th September, 2005, when she turned up with her dad Diggory Compton, the Coronation Street baker. Molly had always loved dogs and soon got herself a job at the kennels where she was reunited with her old school bully, Fiz Brown. Vicky Binns has appeared on TV in shows including Emmerdale, Children's Ward and Nature Boy. In 2006 Vicky completed the half-marathon Great North Run as part of Team Asics.
	JASON GRIMSHAW RYAN THOMAS	First arrived on the Street 25/12/2000: Jason moved in with mum Eileen and brother Todd. Ryan Thomas was born in 1984 and he has younger twin brothers. He's currently dating fellow Corrie star Tina O'Brien, who plays Sarah Grimshaw.
	Roy Cropper David Neilson	David Neilson has previously worked as a gas fitter, plumber, ice-cream salesman and barman. Since taking up drama, he has been a theatre director, tutor and writer. Roy's famous bag and key has a special meaning to David. They belonged to his mum, who died shortly before he took on the role of Roy. Apart from small roles in EastEnders, Casualty and Heartbeat, he has also appeared in Mike Leigh's film Secrets and Lies. He has also been a stage director and theatre manager, and taught drama at the Rose Bruford theatre school, as well as at RADA. David is a writer and has published a play, Robin Hood: The Truth Behind the Green Tights. He also has an Open University Degree in Humanities.
	Norris Cole Malcolm Hebden	Malcolm Hebden has a distinguished acting career on stage, screen and radio. As a young man, he was involved with several local drama groups but didn’t turn his love of the theatre into a career until his twenties. He has had roles in many television programmes and has a long association with Sir Alan Ayckbourn at the Stephen Joseph Theatre in Scarborough, where he has appeared in more than 10 world premieres and been an associate director. He has also appeared in more than 100 radio plays
	Janice Battersby Vicky Entwistle	Always at odds with colleague Sally Webster, or cheeking new boy Liam Connor, Janice remains a dominant influence in the factory.
	Lloyd Mullany Craig Charles	First arrived 20 June 20, 2005, when he gave some cheeky backchat to Dev in the Rovers before going for an interview at Streetcars. At the interview, he was shocked to find out that Dev was co-owner of the cab company, but with some pressure from Eileen, Dev offered Lloyd a job as a driver. Character reference A loveable scally who likes his Northern Soul music. Lloyd’s brother Patrick has also worked at Streetcars in the past.
	Claire Peacock Julia Haworth	First arrived Claire Peacock was Weatherfield's answer to Mary Poppins when she arrived to help widower Ashley bring up baby Joshua following the murder of his wife Maxine in 2003. Love found and lost Was dating Gary when she started her job with Ashley, but the relationship died and he started stalking her. She began to fall in love with Ashley, but he was still emotionally ravaged by the death of Maxine. She almost took another job, but Ashley finally realised he had feelings for her and they got together. He proposed and they had a winter wedding on Christmas Day in 2004.
	Audrey Roberts Sue Nicholls	First arrived 16 April, 1979, when Audrey Potter turned up for daughter Gail’s engagement party to Brian Tilsley. Character reference Flighty, man-eating Audrey has calmed her wild ways over the years and has now turned into one of the Street matriachs. She has two grown-up children by two different men. Her son Stephen lives in Canada and daughter Gail is mum to Audrey’s three grandchildren, Sarah-Louise, David and Nick, who lives in Nottingham. She also has one great-grandchild, Bethany Platt. As well as owning her own home and the hair salon, she owns the flat above the salon which she rents out.
	Bill Webster Peter Armitage	First arrived 6th February, 1984, when he came to look at Brian Tilsley’s garage roof which was leaking. He told Rita he was interested in renting the builder’s yard, put up a new sign and opened for business. Character reference A likable, reliable, down-to-earth builder. Bill has three children - Kevin and Debbie Webster by his first wife and a son, Carl, born in Germany to his second wife. He is grandfather to Sophie and Rosie.
	Sophie Webster Brooke Vincent	First arrived When she was born to Sally and Kevin Webster on 4th November, 1994. Character reference Sophie Webster lives at home with parents Sally and Kevin and older sister, Rosie. When she was born, Kevin and Sally named her Lauren but Rosie kept on calling her new baby sister Sophie and so her name was changed. Sophie can sometimes be neglected by her parents in favour of Rosie, especially her mum, but this tends to make Sophie more determined to live life her own way. Besides which, she knows she can wrap dad Kevin around her little finger. Despite being kidnapped by her mum’s psycho boyfriend Greg Kelly in 1999, Sophie remains pretty well-adjusted with a good sense of humour.
	Ryan Connor Ben Thompson	First arrived 30th August, 2006, when he was waiting for Steve McDonald to collect him in a taxi from his athletics club. As the taxi arrived late, Ryan didn’t wait and turned up in the Rovers with his uncle Liam. Character reference Ryan is Michelle Connor’s son and was nine years old when his dad Dean died in a car crash in 2001. After moving to his new home in Weatherfield, he started daubing the Kabin with graffiti. He then found his mum’s boyfriend Sonny in bed with Sean Tully and further tragedy was to follow when his uncle Paul died in a car crash in 2007.
