First arrived 2003: Gay Sean was introduced to Todd Grimshaw by nurse Karl Foster. He was down on his luck when he went for a drink in the Rovers with Todd and his mum Eileen. He had nowhere to live so Eileen offered him accommodation. Antony Cotton approached the Coronation Street producer and asked to be part of the show. He subsequently helped create the character with the show's writers. Before that, Antony is best known for playing Alexander in Queer as Folk and he also has a small speaking role in Absolutely Fabulous. In January 2007, Antony proved he could sing as well as act when he won ITV1's Soapstar Superstar. |

Helen Flanagan began acting at the age of four when her parents enrolled her in the Carol Godby Theatre Workshop in Bury. |

Poor Eileen, her love life is never straightforward. She left Jason’s dad Tony after she caught him in bed with another girl when she was pregnant with Jason. And she did a runner from Todd’s dad Duncan when she got scared after he started making plans for them as a family, although she regretted it later. She had a fling with Patrick, one of the Streetcars drivers, and she’s been proposed to five times by five different men, but has turned them all down. Eileen still hopes Mr Right is out there for her. |

Molly had always loved dogs and soon got herself a job at the kennels where she was reunited with her old school bully, Fiz Brown. Vicky Binns has appeared on TV in shows including Emmerdale, Children's Ward and Nature Boy. In 2006 Vicky completed the half-marathon Great North Run as part of Team Asics. |

David Neilson has previously worked as a gas fitter, plumber, ice-cream salesman and barman. Since taking up drama, he has been a theatre director, tutor and writer. Roy's famous bag and key has a special meaning to David. They belonged to his mum, who died shortly before he took on the role of Roy. Apart from small roles in EastEnders, Casualty and Heartbeat, he has also appeared in Mike Leigh's film Secrets and Lies. He has also been a stage director and theatre manager, and taught drama at the Rose Bruford theatre school, as well as at RADA. David is a writer and has published a play, Robin Hood: The Truth Behind the Green Tights. He also has an Open University Degree in Humanities. |

Character reference A loveable scally who likes his Northern Soul music. Lloyd’s brother Patrick has also worked at Streetcars in the past. |

First arrived Claire Peacock was Weatherfield's answer to Mary Poppins when she arrived to help widower Ashley bring up baby Joshua following the murder of his wife Maxine in 2003. Love found and lost Was dating Gary when she started her job with Ashley, but the relationship died and he started stalking her. She began to fall in love with Ashley, but he was still emotionally ravaged by the death of Maxine. She almost took another job, but Ashley finally realised he had feelings for her and they got together. He proposed and they had a winter wedding on Christmas Day in 2004. |

First arrived 16 April, 1979, when Audrey Potter turned up for daughter Gail’s engagement party to Brian Tilsley. Character reference Flighty, man-eating Audrey has calmed her wild ways over the years and has now turned into one of the Street matriachs. She has two grown-up children by two different men. Her son Stephen lives in Canada and daughter Gail is mum to Audrey’s three grandchildren, Sarah-Louise, David and Nick, who lives in Nottingham. She also has one great-grandchild, Bethany Platt. As well as owning her own home and the hair salon, she owns the flat above the salon which she rents out. |

First arrived When she was born to Sally and Kevin Webster on 4th November, 1994. Character reference Sophie Webster lives at home with parents Sally and Kevin and older sister, Rosie. When she was born, Kevin and Sally named her Lauren but Rosie kept on calling her new baby sister Sophie and so her name was changed. Sophie can sometimes be neglected by her parents in favour of Rosie, especially her mum, but this tends to make Sophie more determined to live life her own way. Besides which, she knows she can wrap dad Kevin around her little finger. Despite being kidnapped by her mum’s psycho boyfriend Greg Kelly in 1999, Sophie remains pretty well-adjusted with a good sense of humour. |

As the taxi arrived late, Ryan didn’t wait and turned up in the Rovers with his uncle Liam. Character reference Ryan is Michelle Connor’s son and was nine years old when his dad Dean died in a car crash in 2001. After moving to his new home in Weatherfield, he started daubing the Kabin with graffiti. He then found his mum’s boyfriend Sonny in bed with Sean Tully and further tragedy was to follow when his uncle Paul died in a car crash in 2007. |
